It is funny because it’s Untrue. Eggs are probably the only nutrient-filled healthy food that is readily available.

So What Do These Saturated Fat Do That Is So Unhealthy?

First of all, there is this thing called “Bad” cholesterol and “Good” cholesterol

“Bad”Cholesterol or LDL (Low-Density Lipoprotein cholesterol):

  • The lower your LDL cholesterol number, the lower your risk. Because it can build up on the walls of your arteries and increase your chances of getting heart disease.

“Good” Cholesterol or HDL (High-Density Lipoprotein cholesterol):

  • A higher number means lower risk. This is because HDL cholesterol protects against heart disease by taking the “bad” cholesterol out of your blood and keeping it from building up in your arteries.

And, our dear saturated fat increases this “Bad” cholesterol quite dramatically, which as the name suggests, is not good at all.

From a chemical standpoint, saturated fats are simply fat molecules that have no double bonds between carbon molecules because they are saturated with hydrogen molecules.
